Arlene White, Executive Director of the Binational Tourism Alliance was the speaker this week. Binational Tourism Alliance is an incorporated, not-for-profit, membership-based tourism industry trade organization created to support tourism destination development in cross-border regions shared by Canada and the United States. It is the first tourism development organization of its kind in North America. They have more than 100 members from the Tourism, Hotels, Wine Industry and other key government and non governmental organizations related to tourism and economic developemnts matters. Next Area 11 Mix & Mingle

The rotary club of Amherst East will be holding a Mix-N-Mingle on Thursday, Nov. 15. It will be at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center on North Forest Road in Amherst. Hors d’ureves at 6:00 with a cash bar. Carving station at 6:30. Presidents announcements at 7:00 PM & Wrap up and end by 8:00 PM.
It will be a very informal agenda, there will not be a guest speaker, but rather an opportunity to Mix-N-Mingle with fellow Rotarians from our 4 Clubs. They must have a head count for the Hotel by Thursday,November 08. The cost is $ 20.00 per person.

Group Study Exchange

As part of Rotary Internationals Group Study Exchange (GSE) program, District (7090) will be sending a team to Bulgaria in May 2008 and will be hosting a similar Bulgarian team at the same time. As part of Rotary Internationals Group Study Exchange (GSE) program, local Rotary District (7090) will be sending a team to Bulgaria in May 2008 and will be hosting a similar Bulgarian team at the same time. In addition to a Rotarian team leader, the team will be comprised of four businesspeople and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers and interested in learning about the economic, social and cultural characteristics of Bulgaria. Please promote this in your companies, with your neighbors and your childrens friends.

All costs of the trip (travel and accommodation) will be paid by the host Rotary District and the Bulgarian Rotary counterparts. This is part of Rotarys mission which is the improvement of international understanding and fostering of world peace by enabling young people from different countries to learn about each other.

Eva Roll - First posting

Eva has been visiting our club for the past couple of weeks. Please get to know her better at our meetings.

Eva was born in Hungary, but has also lived in the Middle East and many other countries. She got married in 1966 and moved to Greenwech CT, where she and her husband resided for many years and raised their children. In 1996, she moved to Amherst, NY. She has been in love with Buffalo ever since and is always looking to be involved in community organizations (e.g., St. Gregorys Church, etc.).
